The VB catalog has CV axle shafts listed as (2) same part number for NA 280zx, and two different part numbers for the turbo 280ZX.

What's the difference????

Legnth...

there is a right and left axle shaft due to an offset ring gear and carrier internally on the differential.
one shaft is about 1/2" longer inside the diffy than the other one!

As for external legnth, I doubt there is a difference---the R200 is offset different than the R180 in a ZX to compensatee for the differences.

This varies between the NA and Turbo 280ZX??? That is what the catalog is suggesting.

Thanks

BINGO!

NA does not have CV/Tripod Style Joints.
Only the flanges in the N/A model are different.

Then again, there is an R180 thrown into the mix there, also! Some ZX's did come with the R180!

But as for CV's that is the difference...

The parts I have came from a 1983 280ZX 2+2 with the R-200 and CV shafts. I was thinking of using these parts as cores and order new ones, when I saw in the catalog a difference in part numbers between NA and Turbo. Turbo having different part numbers for each shaft while the NA has only one part number for both shafts.

Thanks

Rob

That would be...

Because of the U-Joint / CV difference.

CV's have two part numbers for the reasons above.

U-Joint axles are identical left to right.
