check the rear outer bushings

referencing your older post: squeky suspension, it sounds like the rear outer control arm bushes are shot. we had the squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, coming from the rear until i decided to get my feet wet for the spindle pin R&R. i could bounce the rear of our 280 up and down like in a strut test and i'd hear the squeak everytime.


what i would do is jack and support then thorough investigate WHERE the noise is coming from. to check for worn bushings at the rear control arm. grab the rear tires at 3 and 9 o'clock and try to move the tires side to side. if you can, take a good look at the rear spindle pin area. you may see an unusual amount of play.

It could be as simple as your sway bar bushings and mounts not being lubed. Give then a squirt with a good graphite lube and see if it helps.

i had that sound and it turned out to be the new rear sawy bar...... i lubed them up alittle more and two weeks later they still dont make a sound.

dont the pure urethane bushings make the squeky sound he is describing

 

I used some silicone grease (came with my kit) on my new poly bushings but had the squeaks too. I didn't apply enough, and after putting some more on the problem went away. I believe they say a moly-sulfide grease is what is best for poly-urethane bushings.
