just make sure you deflate the tire first, then apply jb weld... otherwise the air pressure will just force out the jb weld..

or if the hole is in a spot where it is not visible while the wheel is on the car.. you could try tapping the hole and putting a really small bolt on it with loctite or something.. that might work too.. but of course you would have to get the wheel rebalanced..

What type of Rims do you have?

Many three piece rims were sealed on the inside with RTV (from the factory.)

If you are thinking of patching a STEEL rim due to a pinhole, especially from the OUTSIDE, think again! Chances are good the pinhole is just the beginning of a leak from rust or corrosion from the inside out, and without demounting the tire and inspecting the rim, you don't know what you have.

Any "patch" you make ideally should be on the INSIDE of the pressure sector--that is, accessed from the surfaces only available for inspection after the tire is demounted from the rim.

duct tape if rim is aluminum- it will blend into color of rim . he he!!

sorry for the joke but i couldnt add any more to the advice youve already received here.

 

I'm told they're 14" Enkei though I don't know for sure - see photo bellow. The shop unmounted the rim when I took it to see if they could fix it and told me that there wasn't rust on the inside though I never saw inside myself - only the outside which was clean of rust. The hole itself is on the inside of the rim next to the brake drum.

That should seal on the inside with RTV.

I would not use JB Weld on the exterior. Very strange for a Enkei to have a pinhole. You could conceivably coat the inner portion of the rim with a nice clear urethane paint (or epoxy) and that should do it.

When you say coat the inner portion do you mean the external inner portion or do you mean have the tire unmounted and coat the actual inside of the rim?

Why not install an inner tube? Did that for a pinhole leak on a standard rim with no ill effects.
