We are having a continual problem with our 240Z that when it sits in the heat it will not start. After the sun goes down we don't seem to have the problem. If anyone has experienced this problem before and has a fix for it I would greatly appreciate the help.

how hot is hot?

have you given the battery or charging system a check...to rule out juice issues?

consider posting your question in the 70-83 Tech Discussion Forum. lot's of eyeballs there ready to offer suggestions.

It may actually be the starter. I have seen this problem before.. but on a international scout. When we drove say 10 miles and the motor is good and hot..making the starter how.. It would just click click click.. Sometimes we could hit the starter and it would start then. But. It was the silonoid in the starter that was bad. We replaced the starter and never had that problem again.. Just something to take a look at.

Thanks for the input. I am thinking that we had a mechanic check that out..because that was the first thing that we thought it was because of the clicking. I can't remember if he replaced it or if he said that it was just fine. I will have to check into that more.

clicking? hmmm

usually indicates an undercharged battery or poor connections to the starter.

AGAIN i suggest or recommend that you post your question in the 70-83 forum as you will get many more responses to your question.
