VG30 problems --PLEASE HELP.

Hello All,

My engine has 7k.

One day I decided to do a compression test, and I noticed that cylinder 4 was kind of low, at 120 lbs./in. I added some oil into the spark plug hole. I think I might have added to much oil, because when I did the compression test again on that cylinder, the gauge read over 200. When I saw this, I thought that I had blown something in the engine. So I immediately shut everything off.

After installing the spark plugs back in, I turned the car on and it was running fine. I let the engine burn all the oil out (blue smoke) for about 15 minutes. Since I didn't noticed anything wrong with the engine. I continued to drive it for about 500 miles.
I started noticing the car was spitting out a lot of black smoke from the exhaust (raw gas), especially a lot when I rev the engine.
I decided to do a compression test again, and now all the cylinders show no more than 130 lbs./in.

I don't know what else to do. Can someone please help me out with this problem. Please let me know what it could be and what I can do to fix it.

try a cylinder leakage test.If you don't know what that is then I'll tell you. .it's similar to compression testing except it shows you where the compression is going, by using a guage or regulator and a air compresser. Set the cylinders at top dead center of the compression stroke one at a time. Then you take the cylinder leakage tool and screw it into the spark plug hole and hook up the air compressor. notice where the air is going. For example, open the raditor cap. See bubbles? yes. Then it's a head gasket. no. then the gasket is good. hear it coming out the exaust or intake. yes Burnt valve. and if nothing yet it may be the piston rings but forget how to test for that exatly. I had a similar problem - it resolved when I checked all the temperature sensors and connections.

help with '85 turbo

ive had an 1987 n/a z for the past 2 years, and its been my dream to make it a turbo ever since i got it. About two weeks ago, I found a '85 z turbo for sale and ended up buying it for $650. The problem is that the only thing that is good about the car is the engine, and my original z is by now in pristine conditions. Can I do an engine swap? If so , do i have to swap the tranny too? or is the one i have compatible. also, the engine has 148k miles, is a complete engine rebuild necessary even if the engine runs fine? please, if you have the answer to any of these questions, let me know. thanks for everything.
