I've been using one of these meters for a couple of weeks, while we have been building a new car, and I love it.

The device is advertised to be within 3 feet acurate of the 1/4 mile, and within a few tenths of your MPH.

They are a nice toy to have, if you are builiding motor and want to see your process, and progress compared.

Chris,

What happens if you have wheel spin on your lauch? Or does it not measure the 1/4 mile distance from your tire revolutions?

I have of this thing to and love it.The G-tech measures g forces so spinning will not effect the measurements.It just sticks to your windsheild and plugs into your lighter outlet

Amazing. So it can tell you traveled a 1/4 mile by meausring G-Force? Is there a web site? Or do you have a one paragraph explanation in non-rocket science symantics? I never would've thought that G-Force would be a constant of distance traveled over a certain time. I don't know if I said that right but I know what I meant. But now that I've thought it, and written it, it kinda makes sense. If this is the answer, forget the question. Now I'm becoming befuddled by unclear ideas of what I was mixed up about.

x=x0+v0t-1/2at*t. G force is acceleration devided by the acceleration of gravity. So, if you know how fast it is going initially, zero, it can measure accel. using an accelerometer, and can measure time, thus computing distance, speed, change in speed(used to calculate hp, accel again). It is all VERY simpler with two or three cheap devices. Understand? If not, I will say more later. I have to go.

Yea, like a speedometer, stopwatch, and a fast cow. I mean car.

Uh huh, it's only been about 15 years since I had physical science 101 in college. We talked about accelleration. I remember thinking, Wow, so when you're stopping, you're really accellerating. It was a very novel idea for me.

Wow, it's cool to actually have intelligent people posting on this site - anyone ever visit any of the others? It's sad, people just rag on each other and post prejudice comments etc...

Anyways, look in a Physics book uner kinematics or any Calculus text under integration and you will get more information that you ever wanted. Math is pretty cool stuff eh?
