I have a t-5 from a 280zxt. Would I be able to take the input shaft and put it in a
t-5 from a z31? I have not done any research on this, but I don't see why I could not. Have any of you done this before? I have found several T-5's. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

Never tried it,but my question would be why? One of the great things about T-5s is the avalibility of replacement parts.I think I paid 99 dollars for the rebuild kit that I orderd for mine and it came with all the syncros and bearings.By the time you buy another trans then tear it all apart to change shafts would'nt it be cheaper to just rebuild the 280zxt unit.In the time it takes to tear apart both trans to change shafts you could easily rebuild one. This of course assumes that your 280zxt unit is rebuildable if it has internal damage such as gears you still may find replacing these cheaper than two seperate trans
