you can use a spring compressor and take them out as well. there is not much holding them in when the car is jacked up.

 

re you talking about the rear springs or the front springs?

Use a jack in the rear to compress the spring, then undo he bottom shock mounting bolt.

The front you will need spring compressors to swap.

 

domdogg123 what z31's are fwd. i think drive axle means rear. when i did my suspension i just jacked the car up really high and lifted the spring out. it took a little pulling though.

 

well guys i tried a spring compressor no go i couldnt get a grip on both sides ill try again just letting the controll arm drop im a little worried about the drive axel seperating or something worst case ill just pull the axel changed the shocks tho its like a new car
