Well I know the first bolt I tried to remove was rusted. It would turn but as soon as it got tight again I stopped. I didn't want to break the bolt. I sprayed it with WD-40 the night before & a few mins before removal. I was told that it can be torched to loosen up....Anyone ever done this before. I have a guy whose putting my struts on Tuesday. I guess I can have him do it at the shop...Any suggestions?

Hello. Absolutely have done what you are doing! The overnight soaking from Liquid Wrench, or your favorite stuff is a good start. I snapped one of the 3, my bad. I have not used a torch, because I was a firebug as a kid and scared the bejeebers from me! Dale

Mine has 2 bolts and 1 stud connected to the exhaust manifold. By the way your talking it sounds like you guys have 3 bolts.... My car is an 83, could that be why it's different?

My 3 exhaust manifold to down pipe nuts came off with ease.
Like they were put on just yesterday....and on a 30 yr old car
I doupt it.

They were brass nuts...with the slots on the sidewall...like the
wheel bearing securing castella nuts.

Don't know if they are stock item...but I'm glad the Previous
owner put them on. Try to find them for the replacements.
