about how much am i gonna have to shell out to get a set of recaro seats (the speed model, or sport, cant remember which one it was..anyway, the black ones with the blue inserts down the middle) for a 280zxt two seater? i haven't actually got the car yet, but when i do, i wanna have a plan for what happens to it. so far i''m planning the following :

Momo race leather steering wheel (blue)
Momo ergo leather shift knob (blue)
Panasport racing three piece rims (15x10 front, 15x12 rear)
Viper blue with dual white 8” stripes
Cd player and custom fit speaker box (2 10’s and a matching amp)
Recaro seats or seat covers (blue leather)
Carpet kit if necessary
Window tint
Short throw shifter
Car alarm!!!
Kill switch!!!!!

i dont have any plans yet for the drivetrain or suspension, as i dont know much about it yet, but that'll all come soon.....just not soon enough. . . $h!t...

Hey check out a push button starter from JC Whitney, about $70. but a nice trick if you are going all out. It lights up in various colors too. I am looking for a set of seats too even though mine are in good shape. I will watch your posts

Hope you're related to Bill Gates

New Recaro seats run $700 per seat. They don't list brackets specifically for a 280ZX, but brackets for a 240Z run $195, I think that's per side. If you want options such as fold-down armrests, those are about $150 per seat per side (l and r). You can find more at http://www.nascarplace.com/recaro/catalog.htm. Recaro makes really nice looking and fitting seats, but a full set for my 280 would cost more than twice what I paid for the car. That's too rich for my blood.

good lord...700 clams a seat?

ummm, i think i like the ebay option quite a bit better all of a sudden...i dont wanna be cheap with this car, but i don't think i can justify 1400 bucks just for seats for a while. by the way, what all is involved in installing a push button starter? that sounds pretty cool, if it lights up blue (might be kinda obvious what my color scheme's gonna be, huh?). ok, i gotta stop talkin about this, cause evrytime i do, i get all impatient. wish me luck!

Re: good lord...700 clams a seat?

Don't forget about all the really fun stuff... like fixing rust, having a better ride, brakes, and even getting it to run (if needed)! All the add-on's are great, but I would recommend saving some coin for really necessary items first.

I only say this because I am in the process w/ a 73 240. I've had it too months and I'm just now getting to something fun... installing the stereo.

P.S. - I got a pair of Miata seats for $120.00, they (well the one that's in) fit great and didn't cost more than the car!

Anyway, Have Fun!
