Hi, I'm relatively new to z's, and I was wondering if the 300zx (z32) could have the 350z (z33) transmission swapped in? I was wondering this because I love the 6 speed auto/paddle gearbox that's in the 350z(touring). I think that would be really fun to drive but I'm not sure if the bolt patterns fit each other, being the VG30DETT engine to the VQ35DE transmission. One of my reasons for this is because I like stick and all, but driving stick in slow moving traffic (Milwaukee, new York, Chicago, etc.) is a pain in the arse, and automatic just isn't any fun when you get nice roads to drive lol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ;D.
And if this is possible, about how much is it going to cost me to buy the transmission and swap it myself? References would also be awesome. ;D.
Thanks!

They have a good conversion kit with all you need. It may still be in production but give them a call during normal buisness hours and see what they can do..

Ill keep searching for some conversion kits

you might get more "pep in your step" but you will shift more often during accell and will get about the same top end speed and gas milage

if you can handle that , goodluck

So I'd see a top end change of about 18mph?
Thank you so much! Helps a ton :) I love you lol X)
I think I'll go through with it since the 6 speed is probably better than the standard 4speed auto, specially since I kinda need auto capability, cause like I said, can't do manual right now :/. But thanks a ton, this should make life a ton easier :)

actually now that I think about it, since you're not doing anything to the rear end, you shouldnt get any difference in the overall top end. You're just going to get different speeds in each gear, and being that you're just throwing one more gear into the mix with the 6speed, its just going to make them shorter.
