I am confused as to which is the best muffler to run on my 86300na. I read that a chambered muffler is better for the na, also I have a high flow cat, but read that a straight pipe will give more hp? Sound is not an issue, I just want to get as much hp as possible. Any suggestions are appreciated.

My advice is to get a higher priced muffler if you got the money...the real cheap ones you see may look good, but you get what you pay for....for actual horsepower your gonna wanna pay a little more or else your just paying 75 bucks for sound and soon to be rust...as opposed to getting one for 150 dollars+, and getting both sounded and horses, but either are better than stock...I used a straight pipe in place of the cat and I like what it did...sounds weird when car is cold though, after it warms up it just makes the muffler a bit deeper and more of a rip sound...a good one though.

straight pipe is not the answer. you do i repeat do need a chamber muffler. which ever one you choose make it chamber and on 2. flowmasters are excellent all the way around. now for the cat i would striaght pipe that. if you want not bottom end and want to lose your take off the go with straight pipe.
