I've been looking for some time, trying to find the flasher unit for the turn signals on my 83 ZXT. I found only one old thread about its location, and that was a discussion on a 1976 280. It had a reference to one on a bracket located on top of the steering column, but nothing like that appears on my '83.

Can anyone help me locate the turn signal flasher? I have the steering wheel, shroud and combo switch out of the way and have been looking for some time, but so far I'm stumped. Thanks.

Its up there. It is the size of a beer can. I cant believe you cant find it. Ok maybe not as big as a beer can but it is 3 times bigger than the one that was in my 71 Impala. I knocked my off its perch when I was hooking up the speedo cable when I replaced my speedo with a 130 mph.

Update. My 1981 had the round cylinder type we have all known but it is 3 times larger. Here is a picture of the one from my 1983 NA. Not what I expected. It has a weird mount like it mounts in a slot on the top of the steering column tube. I had to turn on the blinker to listen for it to find it. Sorry about the blurry picture. I was kneeling on my car lift 8 feet in the air with only about 8" of platform to kneel on.
