Does anyone know how to adjust the rotational position of a Throttle Position Switch (TPS) after being installed on the throttle body shaft?

I have it saved in MS Word form so I never have to search for it.

Thanks go out to the master, MaxDoc:

"..... It is located on the drivers side throttle body. It looks like a small black box that has two harnesses attached. You need to check the adjustment using a digital volt meter. Get a thin paperclip or small wire and insert the wire into the back of the gray harness center lead (white) leaving the harness connected. Now turn the ignition on but do not start the car. Ground the negative lead on the volt meter and touch the positive lead to the small wire. You should have a voltage reading. Adjust the TPS by loosening the small 8mm bolts that attach it to the throttle body and rotate the TPS until you get a reading of .45-.48 volts. Once that is done tighten the small mounting bolts and remove the wire from the harness. Now disconnect the harness and start the car. Set the idle using the IAA unit idle adjusting screw to around 750-800 rmp with the headlights on and let it idle for around 1 minute checking to see if it remains steady. If so then connect the harness while the engine is running and you should be good to go."

easy, do you have a multimeter?

If so, with the engine off, insert the leads into the black and white wires and confirm you have them contacting the wires inside. Turn the ignition key to on, dont start the car, just turn to on position.

Loosen the screws holding the TPS a bit and twist it until the multimeter reads 0.45 volts. Tighten and make sure that with throttle open it reads approx. 5 volts.

Make sure to remove the leads BEFORE starting the car!

Z-carr, I followed the instructions in Maxdoc's write-up. I rotated the TPS body until I had a reading of 0.46 volts (Ignition on, but car not started). I disconnected the gray connector that I made the voltage measurements on. I then started the car, adjusted the IAA and remated the gray connector after completing the adjustment of the IAA. Do you see anything wrong with what I did?

Bill...........

Your tranny is in safety mode....Run the codes and see what pops up...

Here is how:

Drive the car for at least 5 minutes and make sure it is fully warmed up.
1. Put the car in park with the OD on. Shut the car down by turning the ignition to ACC then after the engine is shut down turn the ignition to on and LEAVE it on.
2. Put the car in D and shut the OD off. Wait 2 seconds
3. Put the car in 2 and turn the OD on. Wait 2 seconds
4. Put the car in 1 and turn the OD off.
5. Depress the accelerator fully and release
