Anyone here have a specific driving glove they like? I'm looking for a nice pair. Biggest probelem is I have super small hands. I'd like a pair that still allow me to change the radio etc.

Thanks guys!

Why?

With the exception or real racing i've never understood the need for them. Do people have slippery steering wheels, sweaty hands or what? I can't help but laugh when I see someone driving around with those perforated black leather gloves. Maybe it makes them feel professional.

I ran into a guy driving a 00' stang orange with a black racing stripe. This guy was every bit of 55. I was in my 95 stang, then we caught a light. He looked at me and gave a mild rev, I nodded in agreement. Waiting for the lights to change we was rubbing and gripping his steering wheel like he was about to hold on for dear life or do some serious turning. Turns out he was just nervous, when the light changed he jumped and stalled it. But the main thing I remember is those gloves.

I'm sure you wanted to know that, but anyway to answer your question, no. I don't know anywhere specifically but I'd try google, Summit, Simpson, even MSA offers some gloves.

Haha, I don't need them for racing or anything. Since the Z is in the garage my Maxima is outside, so its pretty cold in the morning. I just want a pair to wear for the first few miles and while out in town etc.

I just hit the local "Winners" department store for them. Or Zellers or Wal-Mart. Personal choice is a leather with fleece liner. Start the car, brush off and get in with the gloves on. Remove one glove to set the radio. Gloves back on and away we go.
Works for me at -40 temps including last year in the zx!

Although I’ve never owned a pair of driving gloves, I’ve seen Isotoner driving gloves in stores. An alternative to leather driving gloves is a leather wrapped steering wheel. An auto upholstery shop can do it.

The leather gloves serve a purpose beyond the steering wheel. They resist moisture as you brush off the snow, resist scratching as you scrape ice off the windows and offer protection to your hands for pushing when the snowplow passes by your house ten seconds after you clean the driveway. That's usually about ten minutes before you have to get to work and so now have to try to motor over the hump, get stuck, get the wife to drive, push on the back of the car and curse as she spins the tires spraying slush into your face!

Steering wheel is cold in the mornings lately. Not to mention the aluminum shift knob in my S2000! I just use regular gloves for street driving when the wheel and shift knob are fricking freezing to touch.

Speaking of gloved "racers" out there, there was a middle-aged guy that drove an '80s/early-90's Buick where I used to work (Lockheed Martin in Atlanta) who wore these fingerless leather "driving gloves" every freaking day. Not only that, he would leave them on as he walked the ~1/8 mile trip from the parking lot to the mezzanine where all the engineers worked deep inside the bomber plant.

Hi-fricking-larious.

Driving gloves are like driving shoes...completely unneccesary, BUT I do like both when I go on extremely long drives. I have a pair of shoes that I wear just for driving.

Driving gloves keep my mind off my hands. If I sit there driving (my spirited Z drives can be as long as 600 miles covering 3 states) long enough, I will start looking at my hands. For driving gloves, I like to use a fresh pair of mechanic's gloves.

Hey, if money's no object, mynismo.com has a pair of genuine, Nissan brand, honest-to-God JDM fingerless, leather and carbon, GT-R driving gloves for the low, low price of $180 (plus shipping and handling, of course). Or, you can drive bare handed....

Nismo GT-R driving gloves are the perfect hand accessory for...

...a WonderWoman costume. I would rather wear those mitts that Yorgo posted. It would definitely feel less ghey.

Take a look at them on the mynismo website. Whatever your worst mental picture of these things are, trust me, it's worse...

Even "normal" looking driving gloves look a bit too pretentious to me.

Ehh, I can kind of understand it if you have the stock 240z wheel. That thing is skinny for people with big hands. I get quite a cramp when having fun with that car.

For normal driving or driving on a wheel that is sized for a normal human and is not cold, I don't know why you would need it, IMHO

I have the stock 240 wheel and on long drives my hands hurt. My kids gave me gloves for xmas last year and they work. Kinda dorky looking, I know, but better than sore hands.

I'm a huge fan of the mechanix brand gloves. I have around 10 pairs in various conditions for various uses.

That being said, I have a fresh pair used only for driving on cold nights. What can I say, I love having the windows down.

Of course, the white writing has been sharpied out.
