'82 280ZX Turbo Hood

I believe that my hood is not correct for my turbo Z. It was changed by previous owner and I believe it was replaced with a non-turbo hood. I've seen different hoods on some pics so I am not sure which one mine should have on it. Is there a difference in the turbo hood?

A simple search on : Turbo Hood will give you your answer ...

The previous owner replaced the damaged hood on your car with a n/a hood because it is harder to find a straight turbo hood.

no he replaced your hood with an earlier hood for the series I 280zx with the older body style. The newer body style had the same hood on both NA and Turbo Z's for 82 and 83, he most likely put a hood off of a 79-81 zx. You can find the SAME exact hood in a junkyard off of an NA Z as long as its an 82 or 83

I did that, that goes without saying. Didn't see any headings that suggested that this addressed my topic. Which one are you referring to?

Thanks for the helpful data. Mine must have a "newer" body style hood on it. It looks like all the others. I have found a nice '81 turbo hood. What do you think about those? I like the different hood scoops.

Oh, and the car has a nice turbo motor in it.

Wow, I'll remember not to take advice from you. (#11. 85 300zx na Radiator hose). Went back to read #11 and it has nothing to do with a turbo hood. You were wrong on both you points you raised here. You should read before you open your mouth and try to slam us noobs. We're not perfect but trying to learn the in's & outs of a new forum will take a little time. Yea, we get it "Search First" & "FSM Download".

Whatever dude. "Exact phrase" just pops up my thread.

You really are dense.

here it is step by step.

click on search
type in turbo hood in search box
click on "search this forum only", that is if you are in the correct forum to begin with
click on "all dates"
click "exact dates"
then last but not least click the "search" button.

If you can't figure it out after that then sell your car.

Believe me when I say that I would not put anything out here that I would not say to your face and be prepared to back it up. And don't give me that crap about being a big guy. Tough is measured in the ability to aim and fire.

That said - If you want to know if it's the correct hood , then post a **** picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This isn't rocket science and we aren't mind readers.

I concur with jpx though in a way. There are some things that when posting that you be precise or as close to when asking a question. If so needed post a pic of what you are asking. If you state "I have a 1977 280z with a 280zx what head do i have?" make sure there is a pic because most of the times engine and some body parts are interchangable with other Z's. Best advise to give to new posters is don't take everything here to heart. If you don't like how people respond to your questions re-read the question and see if you can word it differently or what ever is better.
