4-EZT... lower intake removal

I got the EGR bolts loosened up after soaking the bolts in silikroil and PB. I found that after removing the battery, it was relatively easy to access the bolts.

The manual says to remove the injectors and fuel rail. Is this necessary in order to remove the lower intake?

Yes the fuel rail is easy to remove it just kinda sits on top. After you disconnect the fuel line then it just pops off. I would show you a pic but i don't have the car with me right now it is being reborn.

The injectors and fuel rail come off as unit when you disconnect the rail from the fuel line. Then you have to pull The EGR tubing away from the two bolts next to the firewall to get to them so...pull the fuel rail/injectors firs then the lower intake.

Thanks. I got as far as removing the injectors, fuel rail and loosened all but the 2 nuts at the rear to removed the lower intake at 1am last night. Decided to take a break tonight.

I should be able to get the intake off this weekend and replace that $#($*'n knock sensor.
