Hello Zcar, I have for sale a 1978 Datsun 280z. The car was previously registered in 2008 and up until last week had not run. I recently moved into the neighborhood saw it and decided to rescue it. Realizing I'm not a Datsun guy I decided to offer it up for sale before I do something none traditional like put a 1jz in it. Seriously the car has spent majority of it's life in New Mexico high desert so no rust other than surface. Unfortunately the sun has beat the cheap paint. The paint is peeling on the top and the hood. The whole car requires a repaint.
The body is in great shape I have pictures of the underside and willing to take whatever pictures you would like.
No modifications other than an aftermarket steering wheels and sparkplug wires. Everything else appears to be stock. I drained the tank, changed the oil, new battery and sparkplugs and engine fired up. It does have a little miss

ut idles strong. When put under load it lacks power as if something is wrong. I did a little research and these engines are finicky not sure I want to invest anymore money to sort the problem out. I have several videos of it running. The a/c still works and blows cold somehow and the engine bay light still works. The tach does not work, the brakes need bleeding or potential master cylinder replacement and fuel guage does it own thing.
The interior is in decent shape the dash is not cracked and driver seat is in good condition the passenger seat has a crack starting to form. The center console has a small crack close to emergency brake handle. I have tried but cannot get the rear hatch to open. Please take a look at the pictures and let me know if you have any questions.
