Weird Vibration

Since I've bought my newest 91 TT it has seemed like there has been a slight vibration when the engine rpm is right about 2k rpm. Here recently it feels like the vibration has become more noticeable. The car does it while driving in any gear when it hits about 2k and it also does it in park and neutral although it is more noticeable in gear. After you get above 22-2300rpm the vibration goes away. In higher revs it also vibrates pretty good. I wondered if any of you might have some suggestions. I was thinking it could be a motor and/or trans mount. A big question I had is could it be the torque convertor? Thanks in advance guys.

Does it sound like a misfire?

My girlfriend's 2+2 had a vibration, from what she described. It too did it at idle in neutral. And as soon as you put it in gear (Auto tranny) it got worse. Come to find out it was a broken wire on an injector harness for the #5 cylinder.

Doesn't sound like a misfire at all IMO. Like I said it seems to be rpm specific.

The Crank pulleys on some cars can cause such a vibration if they are bad. The are supposed to act as a counter balance or harmonic dampner. If the jell inside has solidified ooozed out. It could cause an unbalance.

Well hopefully that will be the problem lol, I'm going to buy an underdrive pully with my next check.
