Like it says in the subject box, i hear a weird sound coming from, what seems to be, the rear driver side wheel. It's not road noise, it's like a whining sound, or like a scraping sound. Not exactly sure how to describe it. Any ideas?

if it does it at all speeds you may want to check the backing plate which is a thin piece of metal or aluminum behind the rotor. it could be touching the rotor or like andy said, something could be stuck in it. either that or you're touching metal to metal on you're rotors.
Check for a warped rotor or a bent dust shield. I think those are the two most likely problems. If you have a wheel bearing issue, you'll know when you jack up the wheel and try wiggling it back and forth. If there's any play at all, you got a bad bearing.
When you look for a warped rotor, take the pads out and inspect them. They should be worn unevenly. Lay them on a flat surface to inspect the friction contact area for evenness.
I get that exact same noise. I thought it was coming from the front passenger side. My dealer found that my Brembo Caliper on my 06 Grand Touring was bent and replaced it. I am still hearing that noise. I am soooo confused and the dealer just keeps saying that Brembos are like that.
I understand there being noise when I push the broke but this sounds like a metal on metal scrape that gets faster as I accelerate. It usually goes away as I push down on the brake though but as soon as I release the brake, it begins again.
Any ideas on what I can tell my dealer to look for??
