I called up msa and the gave me this part number: 55525E41 @ $6.10 a piece. Could someone help me out and look it up in the msa catalog and see if thats right. 6.10 seems a tad low to me.

are you sure you have the right product number? All i see in the catalog are numbers that are like this, xx-xxxx, not like the one you mentioned above. Transverse link, i know ive heard it before but what is the common name for it.
