First of all, should I get the bottle with brush applicator, or the paint pen with dual clear coat??

Second, what process should I follow in order to do the touch-up?

Thanks

Have not tried pen. But I have many times used tooth pick instead of brush for very small touch up spots. I hardly ever use the supplied brush.

Problem with bottle/brush applicators is when you pull out the brush its just dripping with paint. I always use a spearate brush. Go to NAPA they will mix up a small jar to your paint code.

This will get detailed

I use swabs from Griot's Garage (www.griotsgarage.com). However, using the brush or pen scares me little. Just use the factory paint. Start off by cleaning out the chip or scratch with a pick or exacto knife. If you don't get the old wax, polish, and gunk out...the paint won't stick. Next apply a few VERY thing layers about 30 mins apart. I try to do four or five touch-up chips at a time. Just circle each area with a piece of chalk so you'll see the area for the next few layers. Always get the new paint above the old paint (thicker, higher). Let the paint completely day (maybe next day). Now get some 2500grit sandpaper wrapped around a square eraser. Don't forget to soak the sandpaper overnight in water. Now wetsand the higher paint down even with the old paint. Use running water or a soaked sponge to keep water flowing as a lubricant while sanding. Next, polish the area to remove the fine scratches caused by the wetsanding and you should have a perfect finish. It does not take a professional to apply touch-up paint, since none of the above steps involve very much talent. crashdaddydiesel
