Removed the dash tonight.

It came out pretty easy in about half an hour. I'll be taking out the windshield tommorow. I'm going to cut the weatherstrip with a utility knife. This is how I removed the hatch glass. Comes out very easy and very little risk of damaging the glass.

How hard is it for someone who is mechanically inclined but not a mechanic to pull out a dash?

Go over to the Articles section and there is a detailed article on removing a dash from a Z. I think it is geared toward a 2nd gen though, but not sure.

Dash is easy...

When I removed my dash, I was afraid of all the things that would fall out everywhere and get lost.

Dash was so easy I wondered why I didnt do it sooner!

Well - We have had several people talk about how easy it is to get a dash out. Now can someone talk about how easy/hard it is to get one back in? Usual experience is that it is about ten times harder to get something back together than to take it apart.
