Restoring a 1973 240z that's been in my family for about 50years. It's been sitting since about 2010. Fun project to keep me occupied when my daughter leaves for college. I've restored '80 Ferrari's but this is wildly different. I'll probably have a lot of dumb questions to go easy on me.

Craig, Welcome aboard!

It's a fun journey indeed. Begin your journey here: Xeon Zcar

Download a free electronic copy of the Factory Service Manual - FSM by selecting your year in the drop down menu shown below.

Best practice is to get it operational, running and driving before totally dismantling it into a shell.

Your Z has a unique history, preserve it.

Restored is nice but a fine original well maintained survivor is actually best and worth more monetarily, sentimental value aside.

Well shoot, I didn't see that one coming: "Best practice is to get it operational, running and driving before totally dismantling it into a shell." Too late for me but the car isn't in bad shape (well too bad of shape).

Thank you for sharing XenonZcar, I took your suggestion and got everything I might need.

Appreciate the warm welcome!
