I'm going to go to the pull-a-part and try to find a heater blower for a Honda Civic 89-91 for my upgrade project. Maybe you can help me save a few minutes finding the a suitable car and getting the unit out.
The yard is giant, and they provide no help. I will be lucky to find the section containing the Hondas. So I am on my own trying to ID the right car.
Can you tell me how to read a Honda VIN so I can narrow my search?
I got on eBay and looked at 89 and 90 Civics, so I have a good idea what they look like. But the VINs all look like this and I can't figure out the year:
1HGED3641JA036511 = 88
2HGED6342KH556791 = 89
2HGED7368LH520516 = 90
1HGED3543ML065857 = 91
***
Also, once I find a suitable blower motor, do I need anything other than a screwdriver to remove it? Since I'll be hiking around perhaps for hours, I don't want to carry any other tools than are absolutely necessary.
