I know this is a somewhat basic question, but where do I fill the differential? Where is the plug?

Thanks

There is a drain plug & a fill plug, and both are on the rear of the diff housing. You can use a 1/2" socket extension to get the plugs out. They are the ones with the square holes in them.

And when you say fill....you should add fluid until it starts to come out of that top hole that I mentioned.

If you are draining, I would go back with Redline Synthetic if you already aren't planning on that.

on rear diff cover. On R180s its a bit hard to get to with crossmember in the way not sure about R200s. I always manage to change mine w/o removing xmember Think a long 1/2" drive breaker bar or ratchet and 3" 1/2 drive extension does the trick.

W/ car level, fill til she spills.

Chev Delo 85W-140 recommended. Lasts well over 100k miles hard & hot use.
If I ever switch to synth it will be Redline Medium shockproof.

r200's its a very close fit, but you can get a 1/2 socket in there.

we just checked ours and the fill plug was frozen. had to put a torch to it for 30 seconds and it came loose. the tranny fill plug was the same with having to put a torch to it to break it free.
