Is it possible to unsolder and replace the coil power transistor? It looks like a typical power transitor and if the right subsitute could be found , why couldn't it be replaced. Has anyone done this?

this could be done but you would have to have some manufacturers spec books to do this .it probably would not cost more than $20.or you could sub a msd box.if you do this post the device #.
