Good, news, bud. The engine swap is a completly direct bolt up. The engine mounts, tranny mounts, etc are identical. Try to get the 280zxturbo ecu and harness, however. The stock fuel computer will be a tiny bit shy on gas. If not, just keep the boost down to about 5psi and the motor will be fine. Even the stock 77 ecu is compatable with the zxT, as long as you use a 77 MAS. I've seen this swap done, and I can tell you that 70-83 motors, tranny's, etc are largely identical (with changes only done in displacement, and fuel delivery, gear ratios etc.) What I would recommend, however, is that you get the borg warner t-5 that came with the 82-83 zxt's (stronger 5-speed), with the mounts .

Yes it will directly bolt in use your old transmission though it will withstand 300 hp and shifts much better than the BORG WARNER . I would not recomend using the old ecu and wiring harness detonation will probably occur, get the ZXT ECU and ECU harness along with the ZXT fuel pump .
