ZX Dizzy in 240 Question

Hi Folks,

I know this is probably somewhere in the archives, but I could not find it.

I was doing a trial install of a ZX dist in an F54 block I put in a 240, the engine has not been started yet so I know it is sitting at TDC for number 1 cylinder.

When I originally put the engine together I mounted the 240 dist, but when I put the ZX dist in it the rotor sits 180 degrees different than the 240 distributor.

Is this normal and I just have to change the spark plug wires?

Appreciate any info on this.

If you used the entire ZX Dizzy from the base mount to the ZX Dizzy cap and rotor the the rotor should point towards the radiator and the # 1 that is moulded into the ZX OEM Dizzy cap. Install the 240 wires into the ZX Dizzy cap starting at the "new" # 1.
You do need the ZX dizzy base for this to work on the 240, but if the zx is newer than '81, the ignition module is different and the swap wont work for what I know.
