I have finally found the root of my misfire! I pulled the vacuum advance off plugged the hose and no misfire when revved. But, I open the distributor and find one of the little ball bearings laying on the side. So I take it out and open the unit up and I don't see the usual plastic plate with the 3 bearings in it. There's a metal plate sandwiched with three bearings in it and there's two more bearings laying inside. So one is lost where do the others go? And yes, I have searched the archives, so don't give me that one, please! Thanks!

Thanks! But mine doesn't have the plastic triangle plate. It was metal. One of the first three ball bearings was lost. So I didn't even put back in the other two. The bottom three are still intact. I reassembled the entire distributor and it worked really well. I don't under-stand it but it just worked out. No more misfire now!
