what is the differential in a 280zx, 79 or 80, automatic transmition. And is it compatible in a 71 240 z. I put a 5 speed from a 81 in my car, and it has the origional 3.36 rear end. What do you think

I used to run the same setup on my '73('81 trans with '73 diff) and the result is very tall gearing. I would recommend a higher ratio(3.7-4.11). I planned to install a 4.11 in my Z until I found the rust. Below is a site that does all the ratio-math for ya.
