Anybody know the difference between the pre '77 Z hoods compared to the '77 & '78?

just the fact that the pe-77 do not have hood vents...I think.

The '77 & '78 had the vents and the rest don't. They are all interchangeable on first gen cars.

Well...the obvious difference is the two louvered panels in the 77-78 hoods...and someone here has said the later ones don't fit the early cars...but double-check that one... )

The later ones DO fit the earlier ones..

I have done this. Actually have the hood from my 260 sitting in my garage after replacing it with one from a '77.

they are all the same except for the vents. if you look close you'll not that the vented ones dont just have holes cut in them - they actually have a slight (5mm) rise around the edge of the vent. They all bolt up fine
