Always read the entire post before thinking the worst.

Or broken plastic mount. There are some plastic squeeze brackets that hold it at the bottom - they unfortunatly do break. You will need the following pages in this order.

1. <http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/stereo/stereo.html>

2. Image linked to from above page - here for quick overview of difficulty.

3. Here is a link on winodw rattling that might help in window removal if necessary. <http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=910877&words=window%3a%3aslider>

4. Here is a picture of the inside of the door and the attachment point for the regulator. And a nice color one from Courtesy here <http://www.courtesyparts.com/z32/oe_door-glass-parts.html>.

The red circles show the attachment points that can snap and allow the window to sliw down into the door.

But the FIRST thing you should check is the electrical switch that operates the window. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Remove the two plastic discs from the bottom of the tray in the one piece drivers side switch assembly - there may be some carpeting instead. Unscrew the two phillips head (10MM nuts) and pull up gently to get it from the door (there are squeeze clips at the middle and front). Remove the switch from the clip.

Use the following diagram to determine which points to jumper on the wiring harness:

If the jumper causes the window to go up then the solution is easy. Replace the switch. Here is the bad news:

Just throwing it out there...if it's the passenger side window be sure
to check that you didn't accidently put the window lock on. It took me
almost two days to figure out that was why my window wouldn't roll
down. Yeah...I know...I'm an idiot
