Does anybody know where I can get just the rubber piece for the trim piece on the outside bottom of the door windows? The rubber on my car is so hard it's scratching the window. Motorsport and Victoia British carry the trim piece with the rubber, but the want $70 a side. My crome pieces are fine, and I would like to try replacing just the rubber. There are some staples to remove, but what have I got to loose?

Ditto. I've been looking for over a year

Yeah, I've been looking for a long time in several places:
Automotive rubber suppliers, junk yards (for similar rubber for a later model car) and have even considered fabricating my own. The rubber piece is actually molded with a lip to fit over the outside edge. None of the auto rubber suppliers sell anything, not even anything that could be substituted. I've tried Steele rubber parts and a bunch more I can't even remember.

Since my search has so far been fruitless, I've been planning to ask for new trim (~$140) for Christmas or something, but if you come up with a good source or alternative, let me know and I'll ask for some other Z part for Xmas.

Subject: [all] New Rubber Seals

I recently purchased a full set of replacement rubber seals ( all windows,
doors, hatch and cowl ) for @ $ 174.24 US from a company called
Precision Replacement Parts ( 1-800-367-8241 ). These rubbers all fit
perfectly and will far outlast the old rubber ones from Nissan. If you
mention you are a member of the IZCC they will give you a discount.

hope this helps some...... if it does post on the forum so other people know where to get some :)

NO, Precision only sells the same replacement parts as Motorsports (didn't check price since I already have the full kit from Motorsports)

But as I was talking to the sales rep, I asked him if the trim piece that Motorsports/Victoria British sold were new old stock or newly manufactured pieces. He said he was pretty sure they were new (recently manufactured). Therefore, somebody is making the rubber for the window, they just aren't selling it direct to car guys. If we can find out who is making those trim pieces, we might be able to find out who is making the rubber and contact them directly.

I'll see what I can do.

Nope, talked to Les Canaday: No one makes the rubbe

Nope! We're outa luck unless we can convince one of the rubber companies to make the rubber.
