while fall is raging here in Holland, my '77 z280 appears to have no air flowing across my front window. Within minutes the inside of the window is completely misted up. This makes driving somewhat dangerous.
Do I have to remove the entire (new) dash or is this a common problem of non-vacuum tubes or malfunctioning valves? The fan is working properly; A/C and heating are non-functional (probably due to impaired vacuum of the A/C after a 3 year rest).

check your vent tubes first before you start removing the dash! mine barely worked and i found that the tubes which direct the air to the window were not even hooked up. then as you stated check to see if your vacumn tubes are good and shifting the flow of air the the top instead of keeping it at the bottom.

If 280Z is anything like a 240Z you shouldn't have to remove the dash. On my car I had to lay on my back on the floor of the car and follow the cables that control the flaps that direct the air and disconenct them. Then I worked the flaps by hand and lubricated them until they worked easily. Hooked the cables back up and everything worked. There are two cables on each side of the car (if I remember correctly). 240Z has sliding levers to control defrost, heat, etc...
