Is there any diff in the tanks?

No it's different. 77-78 had space saver spare tire so the gas tank is shaped different

Be careful....I believe the '77's had 2 dif styles of tanks....
The first 77's had a certain type evident by a sloping-up rear deck....
then Datsun changed the tank style to allow for a flat rear deck....
