I bent the long curved piece of painted sheet metal (the one under the front bumper, I think it's called a splash pan or stone guard...) on my 1978 280Z. Tomorrow I'm going to look over a 1972 240Z for parts, and I'm wondering if the two parts are interchangeable.

Any advice? Will the 72 part fit the 78?

I am not positive, but I think that the 72 is different due to the turn signal locations. That is if it is the same piece I am thinking of. Check anyways though, but I think they are different.

Joshua's right, the 240's and early 260's had different front bodywork from the late 260's and 280's, due to the change in bumpers and turn signal locations.
