the better balanced motor should have more power potential. according to the Bosch Automotive Handbook, a portion of it reprinted in the Oct issue of Road & Track magazine anyway, there are only three perfectly balanced configurations: inline 6, flat 6, and 60-degree v-12. Datsun (along with Mercedes and Jaguar), Porsche, and Ferrari all got it right from the start!!!
