I have an chance to purchase a used (but "non-cracked") dash for a 74 260; asking price is $200 + s/h. Any body have an opinion as to whether the price seems fair.

just got with a dash cover

I don't know if you already asked this question but victoria british does sell full dash covers for 100 and half ones for 50 dollars. It seems like a fair price too mee but i'd rather get a dash cover.. also make sure u have the same year or it prob won't fit
good luck and zya

RE: just got with a dash cover

The s/h handling part must mean you haven't seen it. Be sure it really has no cracks and looks like it might last awhile. It's a real pain to remove the dash and swap all the wiring and gauges. I'd go with a cap as well. To have a dash recovered is really expensive. You are very likely to crack the dash just installing it. My dash that came out of my 71 was perfect. It cracked just sitting in the garage. I had it up out of the way and everything. Pulled it down a year later and it had a nice little crack in it. Point being used dashes are going to crack, it's a gamble.
