I jsut got a 73 240z for cheap.. it has tripple mikunis, headers, good ignition etc...
The l24 is screwed (someone who test drove it thrashed it and then left)... Should I:

A) Get the l24 a performance rebuild by rebello. ( I live right by his shop)
B) Take the head (e88) and carbs and put it onto my 280's block and get that rebuilt with flat top pistons.
C) Take the turbo motor from my 83zxt and have that rebuilt and take all the smog crap off and throw it in the 240 and use the money from the sale of the mikunis to pay for it...

My parents dont like the turbo idea, and they really dont like a v8z.

I don't understand

So you already have a 83ZXT so why do your parents frown upon using the engine in the 240z? Option C would give you a lot of power and would be my choice if I already had the engine. As long as the brakes and suspension are good you shouldn't have to worry about anything. It really depends on the cost though, check how much all your options will cost you and then you will have a better idea of what you want to do.

Re: DylanZ

Yeah, my parents were pretty pissed off too.... Not my fault, just being a normal teenager.. Untill I discovered the whole world of z's ( i did't know about them before I bought, just thought it looked sweet). I am reformed from my days of camaro shopping for good!!!!

Re: I don't understand

yep, i have the 83zxt... My dad thinks my insurance will go crazy if I swap a more powerful engine into the 240z. But I dont think it really matters... I should be getting 3-5grand for my insurance on the 280z.. The brakes could probably be redone on the 240 and the suspension is awesome... ahh to many choices for me and my "menagerie" of z's as it has been dubbed.. =)
