Its an 83 ZXT
My weird problems go away when I disconnect it. It has two connections in the plastic that look something like:

And it hooks into the alternator just above and to the right of the + connection.

Your weird problems wouldn't happen to be the charge light coming on and also the fuel, door, and brake lights on all at the same time would it? (happened to me yesterday, took the connector off, it all went away) Here's the bad news, if those are the problems, your alt is probably screwed....

Yes thats exactly what is happening. I hate to think it's the alternator cause this would be number 4, and this one is less than 24 hours old (less than 1hour of actually running in the car).

My question still stands though, what the **** is that little plastic connector? My picture in the last post didn't come out correctly
