Gonna eventually do my intake/exhaust manifold gasket. Anything else I should "get out of the way" while I have that all done? It's hopefully something I don't have to do again so I would like to get anything under/around/hard-to-reach-without-manifold-off things all dealt with while I am in there. Thanks!

P.S. (I was thinking of doing the head gasket since I would have like half of the work done anyways. Good idea or nah?)

The idea was that the car is almost 40 years old so something that isn't yet broke can go broke any second haha. So why not get that piece of mind while I'm down there?

smoke your engine and find any vacuum leaks you may have in that area and deal with em as long as you're in that bit of the engine.

If you're doing manifold gaskets, replace the studs that mount the exhaust manifolds, especially the end studs. Thy have a tendency to break by thermal expansion and contraction, and it's much easier to replace them before they break! Use higher grade studs that will resist thermal damage.
