What car has this part??
What car has this LR160 70 amp alternator. I have e-mailed zcar creations but so far I have no answer. I think the LR160 may work in my 78 280Z. What car has this part? Thanks in advance! NK..

....So...what's with the pump on the back of it? Is it like a liquid cooled speaker magnet or something like that? I have never seen anything like that before on the back of an alternator. WHAT YEAR VEHICLE DO THESE ALTS COME FROM??

I say it is a combo alt/air injector smog pump - but that's just my guess.
Approx. 10 more amperes!
"It DID look like an injector smog pump to me, but I don't need NO SMOG PUMP." I ended up milking another 9.3AMPS out of my alt by adding a 12 gauge wire in parallel with the alt output wire to the battery. I put a 15amp fuse with the wire. The output wire WAS sucking up one volt.(There was a 1.1 volt drop across the output wire when the engine was fully loaded.) One volt may a small amount BUT one volt less of charging voltage is almost 10 amps when ALL THE ACC'ys ARE ON and the engine is "running down the street." I measured it! Thanks everybody. NK..
