we were absolutely dead even as far as acceleration. we did a rolling start from about 40mph to 125mph, we were absolutely even until about 100-110mph, then i started to inch ahead.

does that sound about right?

Beeman..

Bigger injectors and more boost, you would have been pulling on him from the beginning. The V8 is a lot more low end torque, where the Z has really long legs and like to stretch out on top.

Good run, Beeman!!! I love knocking off Corvettes.........I am wondering
why you only have 13.5 psi. boost ? TURN UP THE BOOST !! My Twin
Turbo has about the same performance mods, and I can run about
19-20 psi. max......The extra BOOST makes a huge difference !! Take
your car to a good shop and see if you can add some more BOOST.
Then you can really smoke that same Vette next time! Good Luck !

Yes I still have stock turbos and stock intercoolers. Everything is
holding up just fine.......My boost controller has 2 settings that I have
dialed in......The low boost is set at 10 psi. and the high boost is set
at 19 psi. Most of the time I have it set on low boost. But when I need
the extra power, I just push the high boost button and GO!!

yeah, i have the "mild" Ash ecu, he recommends 14psi or so. i would be comfortable running 15, but no more than that. the nice thing about the vg30dett is not only the power, but the reliability/longevity. don't want to mess with that.

OK, I was just trying to help you.......But I understand that you don't want to push it too hard and cause problems.....
Ballistic says that I am going to fry and cook my stock turbos. Well
my stock Turbos are doing just fine. They also have 172,000 miles on
them. I truly beleive that shows good proof that the Stock Turbos are
really tough and durable......IF you take good care of them, which I
do......I always take very good care of all of my stuff, because it will
last much longer if you do. One of the most important things about
taking good care of your Turbos is always allowing them enough time
to cool down BEFORE you shut your engine off. Of course that is why
they make Turbo Timers so you can preset a time that your car will
run after you turn the ignition key off....This gives them the extra time
that is needed to cool them down, especially if you have been running
them hard a couple of minutes before you arrive at your destination.
I hope that this infomation might help some new 300ZX Twin Turbo
drivers that are not real sure about HOW TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF
YOUR TURBOS AND MAKE THEM LAST LONGER.........Another important
thing for the Turbos well being is the OIL. Always keep a close eye on
your oil dipstick and keep it full, because that is the same oil that runs
through your turbos and keeps them cool. And always keep your oil
changed every 3,000 miles.....That is very important also. I hope that
I have helped a few Turbo owners out there. I love my Turbos and
my 300ZX!! May your Twin Turbos make you Proud and last FOREVER!!
