weird sound

my 260z keeps making a weird sound that sounds like an exhaust leak. i know that it is not an exhaust leak because i put a new exhaust on and i tighted down all the nuts. the weird sound is coming from the engine. does anyone know what it could be? thank you for you time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats not enough to rule out an exhaust leak bub. Did the sound start after you put the new exhaust on? Then its prolly an exhaust leak. And thats about anyone can say from the info you gave since we don't know what it sounds like.

could be right were the header or exhaust downpipe thinggy starts to make a stright pipe back....

Grab a piece of garden hose about three feet put on end to your ear and track the sound with it. Always keeping in mind, safety first.
