Weird clicking under dash - PLEASE HELP!

Hello. I have a problem with my ignition I think. Background : 1977 280Z. Has a grant GT steering wheel, everything else hooked to electrics is stock. Everytime I press the horn button, and sometimes turn the wheel, I get a strange click sound from the right side under the dash. When I put my head down there, it sounds like its coming from a black box which says, "Transistor IGN." and has the a number, "E12 12A."

There is also a fuse, which when disconnected stops the click. It's on the right side, 4 up. There are also a few missing fuses, and the box itself seems to be broken. The first and third up are missing and the clips are broken. Anyway, when I disconnect the fuse, the brake lights do not work, neither does the horn, stopping the click.

What should I do? Is this just a weird click that should be ignored, or some kind of short that could cause my car to burn up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Tony

Fuse is labled "Horn/Stop Light" so that matches your findings

There is actually a horn relay in that area of the car (next to ignition module) . I'll try to get you a picture.

You can find the relay by having a pretty assistant hit the horn and you feel the relays for clicking.

I think you did all the hard work already!

I have a Dino steering wheel (like a grant). The copper contact ring that contacts when the horn is pressed was loose on mine. I had to glue it in place. I bet yours is doing the same.
Wow, Nice.. Thanks a bunch. I'll go pick up a new relay this weekend, and try that. I'm going to the Jyard, and they don't charge for relays. :)
The problem may be in the horn contact I mentioned.
Thanks. I fixed the contact over the weekend, because I thought that was the problem as well. It had actually come off. I looked just now and the contact seems fine. I'm wondering if there is a way to connect the horn to the button and bypass the relay? Or would that cause more problems than is worth? Thanks!
