which do you think is better for a dual or triple setup always just thought weber. But then some Highway patrol officer, after not giving me a ticket cause he liked my 73, said he swears by Mikuni over anything else.

thanks,

For Pure Street Machine

I would go with the Mikuini. They allow a much smaller idle jet to be used, resulting in vastly improved fuel mileage compared with the same size Weber.
The Weber accel pump just doesn't have the volume to overcome a lean off-idle transition caused by a fuel economy jetting of the idles. The Mikuini is setup as an OEM carb, and therefore has fuel metering comparable with most OEM carbs allowing decent fuel economy, with excellent top-end power. I have not personally seen a top-end Weber power advantage when comparing the same-size carburettor, but I have seen the drivability and fuel mileage personally. On a 70, you can actually jet the Mikuinis to sniff clean at the tailpipe and still have drivability! Not so with the Weber.
