Does A&M Soft Seal make a weather striping kit for my 1976 280 coupe?
I need all of it, front glass, back hatch, side windows, side wings, doors, everything.
If they don't, do you know a good quality seal I can get. I don't want the cheep over bloated stuff that's generic that never fit's right. I'm re-painting it and I want to do it right. Thanks.. Joe...

I know Victoria British LTD offers a complete kit for the 240z, but you might have to order each individual piece for the 280z. Try their site at <A HREF=http://www.victoriabritish.com>http://www.victoriabritish.com</A> or

Hi Casey:
Sorry - No one that I know of - has offered a complete kit of seals - for
the 280ZX, for $200.00. So I can't help you.

I did buy a very complete seal kit - sold only as the complete set at the
time - for the first generation Z's (240/260/280Z's) from Precision (see
below). It was far more cost efective to buy Precision's Complete Kit,
than it was to buy individual bits and pieces.

Reports at that time, from the people who bought and installed the
Precision Seal Kit, were very good overall. However the door seals had to
be somewhat modified for use on the 280Z's...(this is no longer the case)

I talked to Chris at Precision this morring and he tells me that they have
since modifed their parts related to the 280Z - so that the correct 280Z
door seals are available (different ones for the 75/76 & 77/78 models
even). Also - they now stock some special individual seals for the 280Z's
and 280Z 2+2 models...

So they now have (in addition to the 240Z kit) individual seals for the
280Z's (including the 2+2):
- Door Seals
- Windshield Seals
- Back Glass Seals
- Quarter Glass Seals
- Inner Hatch Seals

The Complete 240Z Seal Kit retails for $199.95 - however, Chris has
extended the 10% IZCC Discount - so be sure to give him your IZCC
Membership Number.. this would make the complete 240Z Seal Kit $179.96

If you talk to Chris - he can/will build you a Complete Kit for the 280Z's
(by swapping out the door seals in the 240Z Kit)... however they are a bit
more expensive (about $20.00 per door).. so you wind up with a complete
280Z Seal Kit for $239.95 (minus the 10% IZCC Discount) puts you around
$215.96.

I'd sure check with Chris before I bought anything elsewhere...(if you have
a first generation Z)... if you price the individual seals from Nissan
you'll find that you have to spend way over $650.00 to reSeal a first
generation Z...

I Just copied this posting complete. I took the advice and ordered a complete set this week and recieved it friday it appears to be of good quality but I have no way of knowing until I've installed it. By the way The kit was 179.00 for a 73 240. Hopethis helps. Steve

I'm pretty sure one of the posts I read here said something about the door seals off a mid-80's to early-90's Hyundai Excel working beautifully on a Z. He got them dirt cheap off a wrecker. Hope this helps. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks. Simon.
