Morning again,
I am restoring my 280 and have carpet out. Found a small pool of water in driver side floor and wondering if anyone has suggestions to where to look to find the source. Seals look to be ok and there is no smoking gun. Any suggestions are most welcome!

Could be your heater core is leaking, either at a hose or the core has rusted out. I just replaced mine. No more wet floors. If it turns out you need one, shop around, they are still available and not that expensive. Good luck.

These cars weren't made to drive in the rain.
Water is routed to the wrong areas. But you
might have rusted out holes where you can't see
em, kinda behind the dash. Check other areas
as well.

I have the same problem. I don't think it's the heater core because they are solid and the weak point in the heater system under the dash is the heater water control valve which is on the right of the middle console. Which means it would drain to the passenger floorboard. I think it is coming from the fresh air vents and dripping from the under dash area. I always would get wet feet whenever I would go around a left hand turn!

I had the same problem on my 1970 240 and it turned out that the source of the water was comming from where the heater duct channel (under the grating where the wipper arms are) had formed small pinholes in the fire wall. You might want to take a look under the grating, all you have to remove is the wippers and a few screws.
