Ok, i removed the engine, slapped an 81 280ZX 5 speed on there and put it back in...
Ive had problems ever since.

My charging stuff went out in the process of putting it back in, somehow...

i have a new starter, a new alternator, a new voltage regulator, new clutch and slave cylinders, new spark plugs and wires, new clutch....

I was planning on taking the car to an electrical shop to get it all fixed up so i wouldnt have to worry about it anymore.. it was running then and shifting fine.

I took it out and around my block the nigth before i was going to take it to the electric guys. It didnt run great, but it has been sitting and i didnt expect it to be perfect. But i had full range on the clutch and it shifted fine.

next morning i hop in and start her up. and she wont shift. not when it is running.
when the engine is off it shifts fine, and if you try to start it in gear it jerks and all that....
Ok, i just went outside and tried to put it in gear, push the clutch pedal in, and it still pulled, just a very little bit.

My big problem is, that it wont run now, it will just barely start up, then shut down, and if i even tap the gas it dies, i am going to go outside in a minute and change the main fuel filter.
Any ideas?

actually

Well, there is no spring on the clutch pedal and it feels great and definetly has pressure. i am going to check to see if it moves back after a couple of seconds of engaging it to see if it it the problem...

Also, the reason i pulled the engine was because i WAS planning on doing a full swap, but, the engine that was "rebuilt" sucked. ( i could tell that there were some definite problems)

The running problem is due to the electric system. (dont know exactly what is wrong though....)

I think there is somehting wrong with the pressure plate, i did put the clutch plate in backwards for a while, and pulled it to fix it, the pressure plate just didnt seem... right..

anyways, i am going to go and hang out with some friends tonight

I'll get around to it...

The spring, is not the problem, i'll go install the spring... but it wont help.

I checked the hydraulic system, and it works flawlessly.

I am stumped, as are quite a few others that i have asked about it...
any ideas as to why it would be failing to run though? i charged the battery up, and it still wont start up.

i am sort of suspecting it is the EFI system.... but i dont actually know...

thanks for your suggestions guys...

found the shifting problem...

well, i removed the tranny again today. and found that my flywheel bolts were actually very loose for some reason. (Hard to find good help these days).

that is why it wasnt shifting...
it could possible be why it isnt running well... but i am doubtful and thingk that that is a separate problem.
